JVM 836-1 (single phase) or JVM 836-3 (3 phase)?? the single phase is a 5 speed unit (240-1550 rpm) and the 3 phase is a 10 speed unit (120-1550 rpm). I have the single phase unit and put a transmission on it, and it now has 25 speeds from 48 to 1500 rpm.

I have the JVM-836-3 (which is the 3 phase motor with 2 speeds), and here is a picture of the speed chart.

Jack: You have any drawings or plans for that transmission? That's a good addition.

I have a complete build up on the mill transmission, and will be more than glad to share it. Currently I'm in Vermont and working, and will be here back home by the end of the month. At that time I will get it posted.

I'm back home for a couple of days, and as promised, here are more photos of the "mill transmission" and a brief description. The original concept was to gain more speeds and to make the transmission, as a removable piece. So the mill could be returned to the as bought condition in less than 5 minutes, with only a 3/4" wrench.

Its (2) aluminum plates held in position with 1/2" bolts, that run thru some drilled out 3/8" black iron pipe, the height would vary based on pulley dimensions. I bought (2) flat surface bearings, that support the lay shaft, I bought (2) pulleys from Jet and made the assembly to be a cartridge, that will just pop in and out.
